'Sod poverty, throw another pea in the soup!' That was the original quote, delivered on a Radio4 comedy show too many years ago to remember. In other words, don't let the bastards grind you down, always claim a little bit back for yourself.

I've used it in several 'sod the...' contexts over the years; diet, job, boyfriend, bills, the list goes on, but it also works when you're not even aware you need cheering up. 'Peas' can be startling moments of clarity, inspiration, awe, love, lust, kindness and humour. Anything which makes you smile when you didn't even realise that you weren't.

Well, that's more than enough emotional drivel out of me. I'm sure people will find as they read my entries that not every 'pea' is accompianied by bunny rabbits and flowers, other flavours available include dark, vindictive, bitchy and rude, to name but a few.
